山﨑 萌子
1990年東京都生まれ。与那国島と東京を拠点に、滞在制作を通じて土地の文化や素材に触れながら活動している。沖縄の伝統的な琉球紙の技法を基盤に、植物をはじめとする多様な繊維を用いた作品を展開。その地に根づく文化と自然の関係性に着目し、周辺環境から得られる植物や土、生物由来の素材を画材として取り入れてきた。近年は、自然や生き物との共作に重点を置き、素材が本来備える力や生成のプロセスに焦点を当てた表現を探究している。
Moeco Yamazaki
Born in Tokyo in 1990, she is based in Yonaguni Island and Tokyo. Through residency-based projects, she engages closely with local culture and materials. Building on traditional Ryukyuan papermaking techniques, she creates works using a variety of fibers and natural materials, including plant fibers, soil, and substances derived from living organisms. She pays close attention to the relationship between local culture and nature, incorporating materials from the surrounding environment into her work. In recent years, she has emphasized collaboration with nature and living beings, exploring expressions that highlight the inherent qualities of materials and the processes through which they take form.
