山﨑 萌子
1990年東京都生まれ。植物の繊維、土、蚕の糸などの自然素材を用い、漉く・染める・ほどくといった身体的行為を通して制作を行う。与那国島と東京を拠点に、沖縄に伝わる琉球紙の技法を基盤として、平面・立体・インスタレーション作品を展開してきた。国内外での滞在制作を重ね、各地に自生する植物で紙を漉き、現地で撮影した写真を刷り込む制作を継続している。近年は、自然や生き物との関係性や、素材が本来備える力、生成プロセスそのものを、作品の一部として取り込む実践を行っている。

Moeco Yamazaki
Born in Tokyo in 1990. Using natural materials such as plant fibres, soil, and silkworm thread, she creates through physical acts of papermaking, dyeing, and unravelling. Based between Yonaguni Island and Tokyo, she has developed two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and installation works grounded in the Ryukyu paper techniques passed down in Okinawa. Through repeated residency programmes both domestically and internationally, she continues to create works by papermaking with locally growing plants and printing photographs taken on-site. In recent years, her practice has focused on incorporating the relationship with nature and living things, the inherent power of materials, and the generative process itself as integral parts of her work.
